Surf anglers targeting striped bass, bluefish, redfish, and drum get dependable long-range performance from the St. Croix Avid Surf Spinning Rod, built on a lightweight SCIII carbon fiber blank with a responsive taper for casting bait rigs, heavy plugs, and metals along open beaches, jetties, and inlets. Integrated Poly Curve Technology removes transitional points in the blank for smoother loading, cleaner energy transfer, and more sensitivity when working lures through current or detecting subtle strikes at distance. The Fortified Resin System maintains fiber alignment to prevent microbuckling and increases strength by 33% compared to standard resins, giving anglers reliable toughness for punching baits and working fish through heavy wash. A cork overlay handle provides secure grip and comfort during long sessions, while stainless-steel ring guides with aluminum-oxide frames keep line flow consistent across repeated power casts. Available in one- and two-piece configurations, this surf rod offers smooth performance in models that travel easily or stay rigged and ready for anglers who fish both structured and open-coast environments.
