Engineered to conquer the heaviest offshore battles, the Okuma Makaira Special Edition LBS Lever Drag Conventional Reel delivers extreme torque, smooth power, and rock-solid control in a highly customized package for big game specialists. The 6061-T6 machined aluminum frame with forged sideplates provides maximum rigidity, while 17-4 grade stainless steel helical cut gears deliver exceptional torque and smooth engagement under load. The cold-forged, Type-II anodized aluminum spool stands up to heavy line pressure, and each reel includes both aggressive and TDC drag cams to fine-tune performance for your preferred drag curve. The Carbonite Dual Force drag system, treated with Cal’s drag grease and backed by a custom thrust bearing, ensures steady, even pressure during long runs. Extended 125mm handle arms paired with a T-bar knob offer added leverage, and all models are finished in a durable black anodized coating. A Hammerhead Shark is etched into the sideplate to mark this special edition, with the 50W and 80W models incorporating a crossbar frame for added strength, and the 80 featuring a topless design for easier line management. With precise gear ratios tailored for power—3.2:1 high and 1.3:1 low on the 50W, and 3.1:1 high and 1.2:1 low on the 80 and 80W—plus ABEC-5 Japanese stainless bearings, double-dog anti-reverse, and a stainless ratcheting clicker, this reel meets the highest demands of offshore anglers and delivers uncompromising performance where it counts most.
