The Megabass X-80 Trick Darter Jerkbait is like a downsized version of the Megabass Vision Oneten, a long-time favorite bass lure among fishing professionals and amateurs who take their pastime seriously. Like the Megabass Oneten, the X-80 Trick Darter features a multiway balancing system that lets you power this beauty for long casts and then scamper and scoot after it hits the water. Short snaps of the rod tip send the X-80 Jerkbait into an erratic dance that moves even more sharply to the left and right than its bigger predecessor.

Smallmouth bass find the Megabass X-80 Trick Darter's jerking action particularly attractive, as do pre-spawn bass in clear water. Megabass advises that the best water to use the undersized jerk bait is when the water temps are between 38-65 degrees F and clear with a visibility range between 2-20 feet. Yet, when the bite is slow while fishing under less than ideal conditions like high sunny skies, the X-80 can trick the fish into reactionary strikes from its energetic darting action. Sometimes, it's always better to go smaller with your lure to draw the bite, too. If want a lure with a spring in its giddy-up for the smallies and to hit the pre-spawn bass hard, reach into your bag of tricks and pull out a Megabass X-80 Trick Darter Jerkbait.
