When trout hug the bottom and smallmouth pin baitfish to the riverbed, you need your fly to get down fast and track true through the strike zone. Wapsi Lead Tape gives fly tyers a simple way to add weight and bulk without bead heads, cone heads, or traditional lead wire. This 1 x 24 in. strip features an adhesive backing that lets you fold the tape over onto itself for a secure hold along the hook shank, making it ideal for zonkers, weighted minnow bellies, and streamers that need a keel effect. You can also cut it into narrow strips to build flat, broad nymph bodies that sink quickly and maintain a natural profile for stoneflies, caddis larvae, and other subsurface patterns. Keep a roll at the tying bench to fine-tune sink rate and body shape for trout, bass, and steelhead flies.

• 1 x 24 in. adhesive-backed lead tape for adding weight and bulk to flies
• Eliminates the need for bead heads, cone heads, and lead wire in many patterns
• Popular for zonkers and weighted minnow bellies that require a keel effect
• Cut into strips to form flat, broad nymph bodies with faster sink rates
