Now the ION ice auger is as much as 40% lighter than competitor models and armed with precision blades gliding through the ice, delivering the fastest and most efficient cut. The Alpha Series marks the 3rd generation of ION electric ice augers, test drilling over 10,000 holes under various ice conditions.
The 8-inch ION ice auger weighs under 20 lbs. and the ION ice auger 10-inch version comes in under 22 lbs. Each utilizes a specially designed Turbo high-speed cutting system for smooth and efficient cuts at category-leading cutting speed. The 8-in. ice auger goes through 3.4 inches of ice per second, and the 10-in. ice auger cutting speed reaches 2.2 inches of ice per second! The ION ice auger battery is a 40V Lithium-ion that offers 4 amp hours for plenty of drilling force and endurance (up to 2000 inches of ice on a single charge for the 8-in. ION drill).
