The Hawken Simon Hot Tail brings wounded-baitfish action and UV visibility to trolling spreads for trout, kokanee, salmon, and walleye. Its UV-painted tail creates noticeable movement behind a flasher, dodger, downrigger, or trolling weight, while select Glow body patterns add visibility in deeper water and low-light conditions. Tip the rig with corn, coon shrimp, prawns, or other bait to add scent and flavor to the presentation. The Hot Tail accepts leader material up to 40 lb. test, giving anglers flexibility when targeting everything from kokanee to hard-pulling salmon. Hawken recommends using one 3mm bead and two 4mm beads ahead of the first hook, adding beads as needed to keep the tail clear of the bait, and pairing the setup with a trailer hook.
