When trophy muskies roam open-water basins, weed edges, and breaklines, the Daiwa Prorex Levelwind Line Counter Reel helps anglers enter search mode with large trolling baits set at repeatable distances behind the boat. Its aluminum frame and sideplates provide a strong, rigid foundation, while the machined aluminum spool releases and retrieves heavy line smoothly. An easy-to-operate clutch allows quick transitions into and out of free spool, and the handle-side star drag gives anglers convenient tension control. Daiwa’s Ultimate Tournament Drag combines advanced carbon washers, alloy and stainless steel drag plates, and specialized grease to create smooth, low-inertia pressure with the stopping power needed for hard-running muskies. The EVA handle knob maintains comfortable contact in wet conditions. Daiwa recommends 80- to 100-pound J-Braid Grand x8 paired with a 50- to 80-pound J-Fluoro leader for most muskie trolling applications.
