    I was looking for a second finesse spinning rod but wanted to try a more budget set up. I bought this rod and am very happy. It takes a little getting used to as the rod is very "whippy" at the tip. That being said, it is an absolute rocket launcher for light baits! My other rod is a Daiwa Tatula which was 3x the cost of this rod and has a little more backbone. Given the price of this rod, it's a fantastic value and really fun to fish with.

    This rod has lived up to what I hoped it would. I fish for panfish 90% of the time and this rod has been light and is able to handle not only trophy panfish but other toothy creatures as well. I caught an 8 1/2lb snakehead with this rod. This was a great purchase

    Good rod for the price but has a couple of criticisms

    A very nice rod although I haven't fished with it yet for perch, bass, crappie, or sunfish. The only 2 criticisms I have with this rod is the 2nd guide from the tip (not including the tip guide) does not line up with the two guides fore and aft. It extends off the blank too much, so I simply bent the guide upwards against the blank to line up the rings. A guide with a shorter offset should have been used. The 2nd criticism I have is the guides rings aren't ceramic, aluminum oxide, alconite, etc., but polished stainless steel. This means that braided line will eventually wear through the tip guide ring as it is the guide that takes the most pressure from the fishing line, and usually in one spot. Fortunately, I have replacement tips with ceramic rings, it should have come with braid-ready rings on all the guides. I'm an amateur rod builder, so this rod will probably turn into a project rod in the future with all these guides being replaced with braid-ready ones.
