Before I bought this in the question section I asked if it would work with a cannon adapter. Yes was the response back. 1 of 4 holes line up with the adapter. You need to drill and thread 3 more. Purchase the Brocraft one instead. The holes line up w/o and adapter for cannon down riggers. All I disliked about that one was it is metric bolts.

I asked if an adapter for a cannon down rigger was needed in the questions section. The answer was yes. However after purchasing the mount and the cannon adapter. The cannon adapter holes are 1/2 “ wider than the mount. You can line one up. So I either return both or buy a drill press and threader. What a disappointment. The answer should have been, no you need to Jerry rig it.

Not happy with this product, quality is terrific but functionality is terrible... first of all it is only 3 inches wide. I have a Cannon (probably the most common down-rigger?) and the holes don't line up at all for even two of the bolts so the best I can do is re-drill to get a second bolt in.. The base sits on about 2 inches of the mount and overhangs by 3 inches. Definitely not meant for Cannon down-riggers or any other down-rigger I have ever owned.
