Well thought out, well made rod

by

This is my first Shimano rod, and I am impressed. 9 guides on the Scimitar 9' Salmon rod is a very good indicator of the quality, and the cork "Fuji VSS style" reel seat is very comfortable with my Penn 550SS reel. Overall, the rod has a very good feel, obvious quality, and a certain amount of elegance for a "budget" rod. Than you, Shimano!

love this rod!

I was really surprised when I used this rod, caught a nice brown trout casting a spoon and also used it with a baitrunner reel with shiners for perch and bass! It has a light feel to it but with great rod tip feel and lots of power in the butt section. sms86m2b was the rod I used! Reminds me of the old fiberglass fenwicks, but more sensitive.
