I received my well packaged Douglas rod and this reel yesterday, a day early according to the info of the shipping that was free. The reel is a thing of beauty. While being lighter than I expected it to be, the spool is heavy enough to spin and quickly retrieve. I’ve only casted it in a field by my house, but I can see that with a little practice this will be my new favorite way of fishing. With seriously killer gear. Thanks for the fast shipping and great product.

I bought the xl fully ported reel. Awesome centerpin reel. Make sure you back the spool tension off and this thing is insane!!!! Hero drifts are no problem and the large arbor picks up an insane amount of line. Plus the fully ported one is light enough to use on 11 rods wich i recommend

I picked up an MXRXSE at the store in Fairview a couple of months ago and Im super glad I did. The ported face and enclosed back means that i can spin it with a finger and it dries quickly, but I can still set it down without getting dirt in it. It spins well, but Ill probably switch to hybrid ceramic bearings at some point just because I cant not tinker. The larger diameter of the XL makes more of a difference than I expected. Thanks Josh for steering me that way! Another genius feature is the tapered handles. I havent had any issues reeling in fish, but the line never gets hung up on them!

Matrix xl ported black - Upgraded the bearings w abec 7 ceramic bearings and custom finger pieces and boom i have a pin that is lighter, more comfortable and equally as functional as a Milner or CPR reel for less money.
