This is my go-to lure (in silver) for bass at Bartlett Lake in Arizona during the summer. During the spring and early summer Rapala shad dancers are very productive. However in late June as the water warms and the bass go deep the deep tail dancer is the way to catch fish until late fall.

When the pike are deep, this is an exceptional lure to use. A great action bait that gets close to 20' down on a good cast and roughly 25' when trolling. A good steady wobble. Larger pike, like on a lot of baits, can inflict damage though. I've experienced the back end of the balsa made lure breaking under the enormous bite pressure, as well as straightening of the treble hooks. But, the wire end to end design has always allowed me to boat the big ones. And, you might consider the design results in "fish on", even if it's prone to damage in those big teeth scenarios. Best results in tannin water to date has been fire tiger, but the more finish options the better. A very good Rapala product. Highly recommend.

I typically use these for saugeye and they do catch. Clown Flash, Orange Tiger UV and Bleeding Pearl in the 20 and 30 foot models work well for me. Believe it or not I have actually caught a few blue catfish on these as well while trolling.

This is one of the hottest baits out there. When fishing by myself it is hard to keep 3 rods in the water trolling for walleye!
