I remember my grandpa always had one of these in his tackle box, and used it to catch fish every Sunday morning after taking Grandma to church. The model of crankbait always has a place in my tackle box, regardless if I'm heading to the pond around the corner, or on a trip to the lake of the Ozarks, I never leave home without it and never leave without catching largemouth any time of year.

I have 3 of these Rapala BX BIG BRATS. I have: Blaze, Homer’s Buddy, and Rock Solid. I was SMACKING the smallmouth bass on the river! I caught 6 nice size smallmouth bass (2 of the 6 were big) and I caught all 6 smallmouth bass on the “Homer’s Buddy” color. Caught all 6 smallmouth bass on the river within about 2 hours time. Gosh it was fun! The smallmouth bass are SO FAST AND QUICK UNDERWATER! It was bright sunny out so I could see my lure bright and clear under the clear brown river water and I would just randomly see and feel the smallmouth just BURST OUT at the lure and DART QUICK AND FAST OUT OF NOWHERE AND THEY WOULD SMASH IT AND HIT THE LURE HARD! Man it was fun! A great, solid, beautiful gem of a lure, they are durable, strong and tough; and they are absolutely beautiful works of art. A great lure. You cannot go wrong with a Rapala. Make a good wise color choice based on water clarity, and what lure color stands out the best and choose a color that resembles the same / similar colors of the prey fish in your waters and spend the money on a Rapala lure. You will LOVE it! Mostly all of my catches have been on Rapala lures. I am buying a couple more colors of the Rapala BX BIG BRAT. Great lure choice for fishing from shore because they float and have a tight aggressive wobble when reeled and fish LOVE IT!

These lures have a fantastic wiggling action at all speeds and they cast a mile. The colours are nice and the overall quality is typical Rapala. Used several colours of the 3' shallow running model in a hard fished local pond. Bass whack 'em. A sure classic crankbait.
