The Pirate 33 Trolling Spoon, also known as Joe's Original Pirate Spoon, gives Great Lakes anglers a proven trolling presentation for trout, salmon, walleye, and other game fish. Developed on the south shore of Lake Ontario, this 3 1/4-inch spoon combines silver, gold, copper, and UV finishes with modern paint patterns that create the flash of a distressed baitfish. Run it behind planer boards with one or two split shots 75 to 125 feet back, long-line it with a split shot 100 to 150 feet behind the boat, or fish it from downriggers at depths from 4 to 100 feet. That broad trolling range helps anglers target shallow-feeding fish, suspended schools, and deeper Great Lakes strike zones as conditions change throughout the day.
