The 7ft rod is excellent for casting light tackle when targeting crappie and bluegill. Its by far the best Ive used. The only improvements that need to be made are the guides and the reel seat. The reel seat works fine but I think they could have used a better one. After many uses the guides will develop grooves in them which I cannot stand but for the price I cant complain. I have three of these now. Buy this rod if you want a good light action rod you wont be disappointed. Dont expect to go out here and handle it with brute force its light and made for finesse presentations.

If you like a flimsy rod this is the one for you. Me I like acc rods hands down.

Received as gift and asked company headquarters what reel was best (spinning)...They informed me it was only for VERTICAL fishing and never cast with it, or, it would break in half...So, rod is now useless to me and will be selling on eBay to highest bidder...They should make that very well known so people are informed before throwing their hard earned cash away......

I own 4 other Sam Heaton rods. Very sensitive and strong. Best rods for crappie and Bluegill for the price.
