Trout often ignore traditional baits, but the floating Berkley 3 Inch PowerBait Trout Worm triggers aggressive strikes with its scent, buoyancy, and lifelike action. This soft plastic worm bait floats, allowing for a natural presentation that appeals to trout in current and still water. Infused with Berkley’s exclusive PowerBait formula, these worms release scent and flavor that trout bite and hold onto 18 times longer, giving you more time to set the hook. The soft, segmented body adds a lifelike twitching action, making it deadly for finesse presentations. Anglers targeting rainbow trout and steelhead have found Bubblegum and Pink Shad colors highly effective when drifted under a float, especially in Lake Erie tributaries and cold spring waters. Whether using a drop shot, drift rig, or Carolina rig, these floating PowerBait worms for trout consistently produce strikes.

  • Floating design keeps the bait in the strike zone longer, ideal for finesse fishing
  • PowerBait scent and flavor increase strike duration for better hook-ups
  • Soft, segmented body mimics natural worm movement in current
  • Versatile rigging options for drift fishing, Carolina rigs, and drop shot setups
  • Available in multiple high-definition colors to match local forage
  • Quantity per pack: 15

    Always carry them

Great bait in lots of productive colors.... bubble gum, natural and florescent red seems to always work. Drift off bottom with small split shot for best success.

What more can be said that the others have not stated. These worms work. I catch hundreds of trout each year, and the majority of them come on either these worms, or yellow PowerBait eggs (garlic). If you add a bit of scent, such as Pro-Cure, the catch rate increases. For native trout, I always add a scent. Stock trout will bite anything, so no scent needed. Red/natural/pumpkin/cheese on bright days, bright colors on dark days. The reason I like these worms for stockers, is that they last a few fish before being torn up. I rig these worms on a #10 EC Aberdeen, or a #12 Owner Mosquito. Keep in mind that these worms are only semi-buoyant, so a light hook is needed to keep them off of the bottom, which is why I prefer the Owner #12. I nose hook the worm with the Owner, and T-rig with the Aberdeen hooks. Leader length depends on the water column the fish are hanging in. Begin by using a 2' leader, and work up if needed. Everything you need to fish these worms can be found at FishUSA.

    I'm sold

The rave reviews and I was hesitant but after seeing my father catch a 6lb rainbow trout, I'm sold.

I haven't even had a chance to float these worms with a jig head yet, but I'm assuming it will do well. I threw a couple of split shots with a size 10 hook on my rod, Texas-rigged a cheese worm, and figured I'd cast out while setting up a float rig on my other rod. I never even touched the second rod before limiting out for the day. Great bait to fish from the bottom with, and I haven't had a bad day this season since buying these worms.

These have been my go-to trout bait for several years. I like to drift them under a Trout Magnet float, couple small split shot, threaded on a #10 or 12 hook like regular garden hackle. The float allows easy changes for depth depending on the steam and allows much longer drifts or to get to other areas not easily reached by normal casting. The bubble gum pink and the florescent red have been the best producers for me.
