When trout sip tiny dries in flat water and inspect nymphs drifting through seams, natural fur with subtle movement and water resistance gives your fly a clear advantage. Wapsi Beaver Fur delivers versatile performance at the tying bench, featuring soft medium-length guard hairs that form excellent tails on nymphs and dry flies and can also be spun to create buggy nymph bodies with added texture. Many tiers use beaver for wet fly collars, where the fibers pulse naturally in current. The warm gray underfur produces fine dubbing for small dry flies, while natural oils in the fur provide water resistance and promote fast drying between drifts. Each pack contains 4 sq. in. of material, offering reliable coverage for trout, steelhead, and panfish patterns.
