Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Line Counter Reels offer proven performance in a trolling reel. These reels feature a synchronized levelwind system as well as a smooth pulling Carbon Matrix drag system. Each reel is constructed with three shielded stainless steel ball bearings and a corrosion resistant instant anti-reverse bearing for solid hook sets. The mechanical line counter measures feet line as it pulls out for extreme trolling and/or down-rigging accuracy.

          I have had several of the line counter reels and ABU Garcia has one of the best ones on the market. They are excellent reels and should last a lifetime with proper care.

          Excellent reel for river backtrolling plugs and light weight salmon saltwater vertical jigging, where knowing how much line is out is critical. This reel will get you where you want to be every time. Even with a line counter this reel cast like a dream. Butter smooth, dependible and accurate, what more could you want.

          Don't use for casting. Anchor or trolling for Steelhead, Chinook and Coho. I bought one and ended up buying one for my wife. Line counters - once you figure out the length of line that is working your set. No guessing how much line did I have out?? Line counter went out on one reel. Had to buy the whole left side $25 plus shipping. Tried to fix bad counter but sealed no access.
