P.S. I didn't fish below Rt. 5(the hardest fished waters!!!) I fish up stream of 20!!!!!!

Report: "clamshell"...it sure sounds like you didn't waste time! There is more to 20 mile creek than from the lake to rte 5. How surprising that the hardest fished and easiest accessed waters held no fish?!! If you got out of the car and walked a bit...and if you had any clue on where to look for fish in the late season, maybe you too could have found some fish! I suggest getting your facts straight and learn how to fish before you start calling other people's posts BS!!!!!!

Report: This used to be a site you could rely on for honest reports. Was in the area anyway so didn't waste time/gas. Checked out 20 mile from 5 bridge to lake. Could see bottom of every hole and run. Saw 2 scarred-up steelies, several bass, and a ton of suckers. Must be the previous poster caught all the fish in the 150 fish pod.

Moderators should address that type of report, because it was BS!!!!

Report: Decided to make one last trip and found what I expected to see. The creek is loaded with suckers / carp and there are a decent number of bass in the mix. I dont know what the deal is with these posts stating that there are hundreds of steel in the creek....As of now, the water temp is WAY to warm to support that many fish....I hope these guys arn't considering little 5 inch smolt steelhead....With that being said, Im confident to state that the steelhead season has come to a final close....see you guys in a few months!

Report: Cruised up from the burgh early saturday mourn! arrived streamside around 7 A.M. to see low clear conditions. Lookeed at my bro and knew it was going to be a Long day. After fishing are usual pool and not getting the steelies, that were in the hole about 20 in all, to bite we went down stream to fish the faster waters. They were there!!! we fished a pod of about 150 fish all day! hook up after hook up!! turned out to be an awesome late spring trip. As for "Stream Walker" try not fishing just the deep pools and maybe try the fast water BECASUE THEY ARE STILL THERE!!!!!
Great way to end the season!

Report: Went out to PI with a buddy to fish the bay for panfish. A 15 mph NE wind prevented us from fishing the main bay in a 12 foot boat, so we hit the lagoons.

The weeds are almost to the point where panfish fishing is a pain, but we managed to catch a half dozen crappies (9 inchers), a truckload of bluegills/pumpkinseeds (we scrounged out 25 hand-size future sandwiches), several nice bass (14-19 inches), two hammer handle pike (<20 inches), a couple golden shiners, and one very agitated 2 foot long spotted gar.

As a bonus, we saw a gigantic snapping turtle, a bald eagle and a sandhill crane.

There were boatloads of bass fishermen flogging the bay and lagoons to a froth, so the boat launches are sure to be busy on Saturday and Sunday if the weather improves.

Good Luck,
Mike

Report: The Edward John made her first trip of the 2008 season this evening with a crew from Penn State Plastics Engineering. Fishing was a little slow with the majority of the fish being found in 27 fow. The bite picked up after 7pm and lasted until about 8:30. Approximately 100 various sized perch to 11" perch came over the rails. It was a mixed bag with 1 bluegill, 1 white perch, 1 catfish and a couple of rock bass. All in all it was a good first trip.

Report: We decided to beat the rain and upcoming fronts and give the ol' Shenango a try on Wednesday. The crappies did not disappoint, but they remain more scattered than schooled. We picked up 23 keepers up to 13", 1 very chunky bluegill, 1 nice perch, and 1 frying size catfish. Several smaller crappies, gills, and perch were released for continuing education. Minnows were still the bait du jour, but some fish were picked up on red/white tube jigs + crappie nibble. Most fish were taken in 8-11' of water. I suspect the fish will remain scattered with the rain in fronts in the forecast.

Ill def be back sometime soon, if anyone knows where to get into smallmouth without a boat let me know.
