At a Glance: Flies

FishUSA stocks a selection of quality flies across the spectrum for trout, steelhead, salmon, bass, and other warm-water species. We offer a variety of trout fishing patterns, including dry flies, bead heads, emergers, nymphs, wets, egg flies, and streamers. Each well-tied fly pattern features quality hooks and comes to you as a two-pack.

Our choices include standard dry, wet, and nymph streamer patterns for trout. We offer some nymph, egg, and streamer patterns tied explicitly for Great Lakes steelhead and salmon. Many of the flies crossover well for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass.

Dry flies stocked include long-trusted trout flies Adams and Adams Parachute, Blue Quill, Blue Wing Olive (BWO), Elk Hair Caddis, Stimulator, Gray Drake, Hendrickson, Hex Dun and Spinner, Light Cahil, March Brown, Royal Wulff, Rusty Spinner, and a Sulpher pattern.

Popular nymphs stocked include bead heads and standard patterns of Copper John, Pheasant Tail, Hare’s Ear, Hex, Caddis Larva, and Prince Nymph plus tungsten bead head Zebra Midges that get low in the water column. Wets and Emergers include bead head Soft Hackle Hare’s Ear, bead head Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail, Soft Hackle Hare’s Ear, and Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail flies.

Streamers and egg flies offer "meatier" sub-surface servings for large fish. Streamer patterns include Wooly Bugger and bead head Wooly Bugger, Black Nose Dace, Clouser Minnow, Egg Sucking Leech, Emerald Shiner, Mickey Finn, Muddler Minnow, Roger's Flash Candy, Green Butt Skunk, and Zonker Streamers. Many of these are in demand by steelheaders.

And as all trout love eggs and steelhead succumb to egg flies in the Great Lakes tributaries, we make sure to furnish bead head and standard Estaz Egg, Blood Dot, Clown Egg, Scrambled Egg, and Sucker Spawn patterns that fit any fly fisherman's needs.
