Great light weight centerpin rod (from prior model)
Pros: light weight, well balanced, easy to cast
Cons: 3 piece rod, Hard To Transport
Best Uses: river steelhead, River Fishing, salmon
Comments: I pulled out my 13'6 Raven Matrix the other day to target chinook salmon with. I was very pleased with how balanced this rod is with a fully ported limited edition reel. Even though my first fish was a catfish, the rod handled very well. Once in the harbor I was happy with how easy it was to bomb long Wallace casts. I finally hooked up with a 10lb chinook that decided to take me half way across the harbor mouth before I decided to put the screws to it to see how much pressure this rod can take. I had the rod tip very close to the reel and got the fish turned. Overall I was very pleased with the casting, hook setting power and fighting power.
