Mylar is the modern standard for tinsel used in ribbing and tags on wet flies and salmon patterns, along with bodies on streamer patterns. This tinsel is produced with two tones, one side gold and the other silver. This tinsel will not dull or corrode like the metal tinsels will with age or when used on salt water patterns.

Comments: The two tone construction leads to many uses of the tinsel. Works great as a rib on nymphs size 12-16 or as a tag end for some salmon flies. I use the larger size for the body of an Emerald Shiner salmon/bass pattern. Easy to work with.
