Great surf rod
Pros: robust, Accurate Casting, Durable
Cons: only 6 rings
Best Uses: Surf Fishing, pier fishing
Comments: Brought the rod couple weeks ago, went surf / pier fishing twice. Great rod for casting, with 40lb braided line and 4oz sinker you can cast very comfortable without worries of bending the tip of the rod too much ( I had that problem with my old 11ft rod ). You can feel the bite accurately even though there're only 6 rings on the rod, using braided line.

Good value
Pros: Lightweight, Easy To Transport
Best Uses: Large Fish, Ocean Fishing
Comments: I was in the market for a surf rod at an affordable price. I've only used it once, so, I can't give an in depth review other than it is very light and loads up pretty well. Being new to surf rods, I wasn't used to the long butt section and found it hard to cast. A little research on the internet and talks with those who regularly cast this type of rod has helped tremendously. I can see the potential for extremely long casts once I master the right technique. Definitely a good purchase for me.

A solid rod that does the job
Pros: Accurate Casting, Easy To Transport
Best Uses: Ocean Fishing
Comments: Worked as expected, strong casting and stable in the holder, easy to work with when retrieving. Tough enough for really big surf fish but still good for smaller catches like Kingfish and Pompano.

SLSA1202LSS Hi I was wondering if anyone on your end has ever handled this rod I'm looking for a rod to do mobile surf casting mostly sub 3/4 lures but occasionally fishbites, mud minnows, maybe even small finger mullet every once and a while. I already have a surf rod and it's too stout to cast the lures that I want to cast, and don't want to make the mistake of oversteering in the complete opposite direction. My plan mainly being to use Kastmasters, Roostertails and other inline spinners, 4inch curlytail grubs or gulp on 1/4 - 3/8 oz jig heads, maybe even other freshwater lures being they're cheaper more available; and to just move up and down the beach carrying this rod and a small backpack and whatnot till I find the fish. I'm just wondering if this rod with being handle c and all doesn't go from a big overly long 2" exhaust pipe with a huge reel seat (I was planning of using a Nasci on it) down to a little wet noodle of a rod that might even break or have other problems associat

I put this rod together from our ware house to see the flex on it. It's not as whipy as I thought it would be. The rod seams to have a nice flex to it , the main thing is to stay within the lure sizes for the best casting.
