The longer cradle keeps the reel positioned higher in the cradle, keeping most of the rod handle out of the boat. This rod holder is highly used on charter boats to provide the comfort and freedom of moving about the boat. The security ring at the end of the cradle can easily be disengaged or engaged. Once this rod holder is engaged, it stays secure by durable machined teeth around the entire circumference and the anodized aluminum construction offer long lasting sustainability.
