Product Details

The Steelheader's Journal by John Nagy is designed to help steelheaders efficiently record information related to his or her tributary steelhead fly fishing trips. Careful observation of conditions along with experiences not only makes a better steelheader, but also makes steelhead fishing the tributaries a much more satisfying and fulfilling experience.

The Steelheader's Journal contains a total of 171 journal/log entry forms. Each form consists of two pages allowing steelheaders to enter detailed information in 27 categories for each tributary fished. Some of the categories include: weather, water temperature, flow, catches, technique, tackle, flies, rigging and access points. The "journal" section of each entry form allows you to write personal reflections and experiences, as well as memorable sightings encounters.

The "old school" feel of the Steelheader's Journal invites you to slow down and think and reflect on the days fishing.

Steelheader's Journal is leather bound with low-sheen, natural paper and sepia ink and a silk ribbon page marker. The sewn binding adds to the durability. It is also illustrated nicely by steelheader and artist Les Troyer including two color painting's titled "Steelhead Catch-and-Release" and "In the Right Spot". The Steelheader's Journal also features a section with "Some Do's and Don'ts of Steelhead Fishing" as well as common and helpful knots and a pre-trip gear check list.
