Great pack rod
by Thomas Lures
Bought the 6'6"M 4 pc. to take along on a hunting trip to northern Quebec where they had lake trout fishing as well. First fish caught was a 20lb.+ laker which fought for 15-20 min. This rod handled the fish with ease and the bend and flex were consistent from butt to tip. Pretty impressive for a multi-piece rod.

Well made, nice balance, fast shipment

Fish 2-4 times per week. Always used value rods. Finally upgraded. Very crisp and responsive. I know that this is considered an entry level croix but it is good. I am sure the higher end ones are even better. Love it. The end eyes can cause some tangles when changing lures. No biggy

Purchased the 6' 6" medium light trs66, combined with the Shimano, CI4+ 2500 reel, a match made in heaven..Casts 1/8" - 1/2" lures with ease , even in the wind.I manged to hook into a nice 20" Northern while trout fishing, what a fight and feel.. Highly recommend this rod on a 5.5# tectan mono line....The best outfit I've owned in 40 years of fishing...
absolutly worth every penny

i have owned this rod for 10 years. loved it so much bought a fly rod and ultra lite. i have caught everything from pan fish all the way up to 30 king salmon out of Milwaukee. mostly used for small mouth bass and northern pike. 6 foot medium lite with 6 pound test. great weight balance and extremely lite weight for hours of casting.
Expectations went down the drain

This is my first time using a St. Croix rod, and I expected a lot from it after hearing so many good compliments. Many of my friends own these rods and when my Dobyns broke, I decided to get a St. Croix rod to replace it. Packaging was nice, but delivery was unexpected. The rod itself (7' Fast) is strong and it has a full cork handle, but that's the only good things I found with this rod. Sensitivity is not there. The rod has a fast taper but instead, it reacts more like a Moderate rod, which I have lost many fish already. The worst part about this rod is the balance. The balance is not there! It weighs too heavily by the spinning reel deposit, and too light on the end of the pole and also too light at the top. My wrist takes a heavy toll for this imbalance after 30 minutes of fishing. Though this is a quality blank rod, it is not the best at its price range. I believe St. Croix seriously marketed this rod higher than it needed to be. As a native-born Wisconsinite, I'm disappointed.

Have always had St. Croix rods. I surf cast, inshore fish for stripers, blues etc., and freshwater fish. In all cases I have a St. Croix rod. I also build rods and have used St. Croix rod blanks for that purpose. Reputable company , excellent products and their guarantees on their products can't be beat. I am in the process of ordering an ice fishing rod , the Legend for my nephew. Need I say more.

I have come to rely on St Croix spin rods and fly fish rods for fine quality and moderate pricing.
Excellant all pupose ultralight spinning

I bought the Triumph Travel Rod, TRS56ULF4 which 5.5' in length. Great action and plenty of power to catch brown trout and largemouth bass. I have had the rod about 4 weeks now and I have both of the above types of fish. My main reason for buying the Triumph Travel rod was for ease of transport and ability to cast well and to handle the fish I come across. The only thing I wish is that Fishusa would come up with a hard case that would hold the rod(4 pieces), an ultralight spinning reel and and few lures and hooks. Similar to the Daiwa or Shakespeare executive kit, but minus the reel. This would allow the use to select their own reel. I would recommend this to the avid and casual fishermen.
One more time!

St Croix makes a rod for every level fisher and the quality never wavers. Simply one of the very best rods for the money.
price was well below other retailers

the first cast I made at lake camanche resulted in a 7.3 pound rainbow trout. The play was better than could have been expected from a rod at 5.6 feet long. Will now buy one for my wife. Randy Jensen
I would buy this product again and again

I fish on average 5 days a week since I retired in Dec. of 2006. I have other brands of rods and I also fly fish. For the price, the Triumph rods are hard to beat. I primarily use the UL,L and ML rods whether worm fishing for bass or tossing small spinners, these rods hold up. I've caught hundreds of fish and a number of large ones to affirm how tough the rods are.
perfect travel pole for serious fishers

great rod, i mean great rod....if you are a great fisherman you will appreciate this rod. i've caught some monsters with rod and the feel is great. doesnt feel like a travel pole at all feels like one of my one piece bad boys...love it

This rod has it all, from great action to easy set up and break down. It also can be taken anywhere. This rod breaks down into 4 pieces and is stored in a nylon cushioned pouch, small enough to put in a backpack and hike to your favorite stream or river..
BUY THIS PRODUCT!!

Best rod for all around fishing I have had in a long time. Landed 4 bass over 4 lbs 2 12-15 lb catfish and many crappies.Cast better then any rod I have.
St. Croix - Great rods - Reasonable too

I called St. Croix and told them I had a problem. Some of the bass I was catching were almost too big to land with my current rod. They said at St. Croix that's not considered a problem. They suggested I step up to a Medium action rod, and the results have been excellent.
This is a great product for the price

Great trout fishing and even steelhead rod. Lightweight and sensitive
St Croix Triumph Rod
Love this rod, the feel is great. It doesn't feel like a travel pole. It is real easy to setup and break down, I put it in my backpack and hike to my favorite spot. Stores in a nylon cushioned pouch, Great pole.
very good travelling rod
by Naftaly -
very convenient for travelling by airplane
My previous rods were a 42 year old fiberglass Olympic and a first generation Ugly Stik so that's my context. I love my new Triumph. Light and well-balanced. I caught 5 largemouths today, felt every nibble and bite. Casts smoothly and far. What an upgrade! Worth it.
Poor QC out of Mexico on Triumph rod. :-(
Very disappointed in Triumph quality control out of Mexico. Reel seat and first eyelet WAY out of alignment. Now it will take weeks or more for a replacement! Not what I was looking for when I purchased a St Croix for the first time.
<br>Action of the rod is nice and Fish USA has been good if the website is working properly.
