Best Walleye Rod For Hardwater

by walleyejimmer -

Works great with jigs 3/8 or 1/2 oz. Have a lot of feeling over what the lure is doing and great backbone after you hook up. I miss the ice

The Best!

by Fishboy -

This is an ideal jigging rod for walleye and trout. The 42" model provides more feel and control and allows me to jig in the hole farthest away from my chair.

28in UL

by sodusguy09 -

Rod is sensitive enough to feel even the lightest bites, but is durable and has just the right action to handle the surprise bass or pike that grabs your jig.

Nice rod for trout through the ice in mountain lakes.

My best lake trout ice rod I ever had !

by RichardTheFisher -

This rod is soo good when ice fishing for lake trout ! A very best use of it is when using jigheads dressed with tubes and rod's 36" length helps with those high lifts with a little arm movement.

Quality Ice rod

by Rightarm -

Light and sensitive. The lack of reel seat allows for adjustable reel position for balance. I should have purchased 2. My order arrived quickly!

Very nice Rods!

by Steve -

I have bought both the ultra light for panfish and the medium light for walleye. So far I have only been able to use the ultra light and have really liked it. It is very sensitive but still has a good back bone for good hook sets. All in all a good rod value!

St Croix

Great all species rod. Caught a laker with the medium and had no difficulty.

These are good blanks, and good cork handles. Not as much filler as the competition. BUT these rods are notorious for having the eyelets placed incorrectly according to where the spine of the rod blank is. BIG NO NO! Also misaligned guides is a problem. Happened to me on a st croix legend as well. The tip broke off too. If your looking to get one of these, make sure you go to the store. That way you know what your getting. All rods are not created equal, even if they are identical model rods. It would be a good rod if they put it together properly. All the parts are there.

Pretty good for the cost

by jighead -

I like these rods for the cost. Great name, great rod for the price, if you break it then it won't break the bank to buy a new one. Not real psyched about the new ice blue color.

The only Rods I use ice fishing

by Red Dog Ric -

Fast tip..........good backbone..........means walleye on the ice !

great rod

by chucky -

Love St Croix rods, landed a giant lake trout on the 32 medium. They are not overly priced, spending $100 on an ice rod is tough.

Sweet ultralight

by brookieflyfisher -

Awesome! It doesn't get any better than this when it comes to ice fishing for perch. Sensitive tip detects light bites without being too soft, so you can still use spoons for deep perch. Also has plenty of backbone for big trout. Reel attachment is 2 cheap o rings, break out the electrical tape.

Ok rod for price

by Stever -

Nice rod for the first month until I noticed the tip guide is stainless steel and a groove was forming where the line was passing through.poor quality steel. Handled 10 lb laker but felt like it was at the break point compared to my other rods. Had to replace the tip guide with a ceramic. St. Croix needs to use better steel or use ceramic. You get a decent rod for the price.
