Shimano NASCI Spinning Reels are durable, stylish, and available at a price any angler can afford.

  • Freshwater and saltwater applications
  • COREPROTECT
    • The concept of COREPROTECT is simple... to provide water resistance without creating a heavy rotation feeling. There are three key areas of the reel that require protection; the roller clutch, the body and the line roller.

  • HAGANE Gear
    • With amazing strength and durability, the HAGANE Gear is at the very heart of the reel. Shimano, through the application of state-of-the-art technologies, gives you the long-lasting smoothness and pleasure that you feel when you first use a reel, over and over again. No cutting work is applied to the teeth of the drive gear. Instead the entire surface is calculated in minute detail by special 3D design and then formed by Shimano's cold forging technology. The result is assured resilience. It's the fruit of Shimano's inexhaustible pursuit for durability; the strength and power of forged metal continues to represent the fundamental concept of Shimano reels.

  • X-SHIP
    • X-SHIP provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. The added benefit is that friction between the spool shaft and gear are eliminated. This will enhance the casting performance of the reel with lighter lures, and allow for longer casts.

NASCI 1000FB

by -

First of all I us UL gear exclusively. After analyzing the NASCI FB and new Sahara, I decided to spend the extra $20 and opt for the NASCI 1000FB. The reel is flawless. Now I fish the Sonoran Desert which is extremely dusty and gritty. I typically clean my reels inside and out after two days on the water. It is also common for me to find the inside of my reel filled with dirt from the dusty air. I found the answer to that issue with the NASCI. Now I like both my Saharas and Symetres reels do not get me wrong. However, for the extra $20 I now prefer the NASCI to reduce overall maintenance. I sure love the drag on this reel as well. It is Sonoran Sucker spawn season and I have been on the Salt River most evenings. Hooking into these fish with #2 Ultragreen I have to rely on a solid drag. I tell you what...this drag screams like the new Dodge Hellcat. The drag has been flawless...not even one slight hiccup when a fish is running. Give this reel a try. You'll like it!!!

Smooth Operator

Love Shimano Reels. Been using them 35 years or longer. Always count on Smoothness, Dependable And Muscle. Like any reel though, properly sized for what your fishing and MAINTENANCE MAINTENANCE.. All Reels have to be periodically cleaned and re lubed. I have a little UL Shimano I just hang onto for sentimental reason! Little quickfire. Old as the hills but still works great! Love These NASCI Reels. Very Good Midrange reels!
