The Shimano IX Spinning Reel is a rear-drag reel at an affordable price! Made with a graphite frame, sideplates, rotor, and spool, this reel is extremely lightweight for easy, all-day casting. The IX Reel features Quickfire II technology which allows you to quickly and easily cast with one hand. The line and trigger will self-center and can be grasped by the angler's index finger.

Can't beat it for the price

They are cheap and catch fish. Love the rear drag and quick fire. I've caught a lot of big fish on these cheap reels and if they only last a couple years who cares, it's $12.

Good enough for me

They dont break the bank and been catching fish with the 1000 2000 for years now. I like the quick trigger too. Got like 5 of them for the whole family.

Best bang for the buck! Smooth long casts with an incredible drag system. You can't do better than these reels. I pulled in a 32" pike on an ultralight rod with this... fantastic..
