LOVE THE FULL CORK HANDLE
Have not used the rod yet, but love the full handle style, I have also purchased the Shimano scimitar for the same reason, can't wait until spring to try them out.
Great sensitivity and excels for accurate casting. Owned rod for 2 years, fish 3 times a week, outstanding performance and brought in countless fish up to 11 pounds. Highly recommend! Fuji guides too!
So the second of two of these rods I ordered from FishUSA has broke. This one was just in my boat horizontally for a 17 mile drive to the lake. Several other rods (many older and cheaper) survived the ride just fine. I believe that these blanks are actually defective. Someone should look into this.
Been using this rod for about a year now, and I definitely recommend it. It has a great feel to it, I've been pulling in trout and bass that tests it's boundaries, and it's preformed terrifically. Also a big fan of the longer cork handles, great for casting and dexterity.
Normally Shimano delivers quality in it's wide range of reels and rods. But this one was a serious let down. I ordered two (I often get rods and reels in pairs). And I fish a lot. On the first use I broke one of these rods trying to get a hook off a snag. With very little force the rod snapped like a toothpick. I actually think it was a flaw in the individual rod as the other one has performed well enough. The blank just seems very thin and fragile.
