I have purchased three of these rods, the blanks are extremely brittle. I have had two of the blanks snap with minimal side pressure. Do not buy these combos.
Rod snapped on a CAST

I bought 2 of these for my son and a friend to steelhead fish. On it’s 2nd use, the rod snapped on a CAST. Never even landed a fish with it. Trying to work with Shakespeare to get a replacement but I’m hesitant to even trust the rod. I wouldn’t buy it again.

I've owned more expensive rod combos, but this is the best set-up I've ever found. Bought three (3) without knowing if I'd like them and now plan to purchase three (3) more so the wife can hook up as much as I have this fall and winter 2017).
