Surface running lure kicks up a commotion

by iljFISH

I've used these to fish for Ontario river Musky, with spectacular results - the lure drives them wild based on the violent strikes, that you get to see clearly as this bait runs right on the surface. I have an image of the black hole of my last Musky's gaping mouth with this lure right in the middle of it. I'm sure it would also be good for Largemouth Bass, Pike, and fished at night large Smallmouth Bass. The clear plastic bill kicks up a lot of bubbles and turbulence, as well as causing the lure to roll and wobble enticingly. I removed the tail hook as fish seem to go for the head of the lure and I don't want that third hook waving around during extraction for a quick release. One thing I have learned is to NOT use this lure where seagulls are flying around as it is so attractive they will grab it and ruin your presentation - the super sharp hooks get them by the feet which makes for an unwelcome hassle. Extremely well made, beautiful lure - highly recommended.
