RIO Fluoroflex Plus Tippet Spool
Details
RIO Fluoroflex Plus Tippet Spools are exceptional leader and tippet material made from 100% fluorocarbon (PVDF). Fluoroflex Plus is the strongest, thinnest fluorocarbon on the market with an incredible strength. It is a slightly softer material than Fluoroflex and ties excellent knots.
The refractive index (1.42) of Fluoroflex Plus in water (1.33) compared to nylon (1.62) makes it almost invisible to fish. RIO Fluoroflex Plus Tippet has a density of 1.72 (compared to nylon of 1.15), sinks quicker and gets below the surface tension for more effective dry fly, nymph, and wet fly fishing.
- 100% Fluorocarbon
- Interlocking spool
- Elastic tippet restraint

The best fluorocarbon I've ever used
by coho Bob -
I fish for steelhead as much as I can. Rio was introduced to me by a steelhead guide. This stuff is strong and holds knots well. It makes a big difference in clear water conditions. You can land most fish on 3 lb tippet if you play them right. Most of the time I use at least 5 lb.
One of the best on the market

One of the best flouro tippets

I started using Rio Flouro Flex for their strentgh and invisability and could not be any more pleased. I am not sacrificing any hook-ups by using to 8.5 lb and not breaking fish off. I will be using this product for a long time.
strong, flexable, invisable to the fish!

I love Rio florocarbon to fish clear shallow water because fish can't see it and it is the strongest tippet material I have found.

Why should I change from a great product!

Like I said why change from a GREAT PRODUCT used other brands with not as much success so pretty much stick with what works.
Almost great

I primarily use this for nymphing and the rare times I use streamers. To me it does seem to equal out to more fish than with mono. Most times I'm using 5x. The only issue I have with it is that it seems to have a tendency for breaks during the hookset (5 - 10% of the time). It's annoying to lose flies like that but for the perceived increase in takes, it's worth it. That's the only thing I've noticed. This is the only fluoro tippet I've used so I don't have a basis for comparison. Other than that one issue, I'm happy with this product but will perhaps give others a try.
