Penn Battle II Spinning Reels are equipped for combat with a full metal body and side plate to keep precise gear alignment and sealed HT-100 drag washers to provide smooth drag under heavy loads. The machined and anodized aluminum spools includes a super Line spool so no backing is needed because the rubber gasket keeps superline from slipping. These reels have corrosive resistant components making them a great choice for saltwater applications.

Penn Battle II Spinning Reels also feature a 5 + 1 stainless steel bearing system and a techno-balanced rotor to give smooth retrieves.

  • Shielded stainless steel ball bearings
  • Thinck aluminum bail wire
  • Rotor brake on 5000, 6000, and 8000 models
  • Superline spool with line capacity rings

Battle 3000

by stascky

Had this reel in use for about 1 year. I've used it for both fresh water trout and saltwater surf perch. Unfortunately I recently had to order both the main gear and the crosswind gear as there were missing teeth. No signs of rust or anything, so one could assume a bit of sand? I always rinse and soak the gear after saltwater use and this is discouraging. Not sure if I could recommend this product anymore, and unfortunately for me, just weeks ago I received a new 6000 in the mail. We'll see how the replacement parts hold up, but probably would have to go with a SSV Spinfisher at a minimum for saltwater use. Am I wrong?

product quality

reel quite sturdy, but heavy and bulky. Not exactly the folded elements that are noticeable backlash. Recommending the same class would reel ZAUBER DO, is cheaper and better made??.

Love everything about the reel, I also currently have a 6000 model and it is great. even on this 3000 model the main shaft is big and sturdy built tough. only reason why i gave thise one 3 stars is because it is not laying line good. i might try taking out one spacer and will see what happen. it is laying line in a cone shape.
