          If you're looking to get into ice fishing for lake trout this is a decent first rod. It's definitely not a medium heavy as advertised. Its power is comparable to that of the frostbite slugger XH. Its not extremely sensitive, and the short butt section can make fighting a big fish hard on your wrist.
