Seems well made
by CarriedKnave
Have yet to use, winter time in the midwest. Looks to be well made. Can't wait to get a chance to try it out. If the rod performs well and holds up will revise my rating upward.

A great affordable sensitive rod for pier fishing and surf fishing (Lake Michigan) with excellent action and control. Also excellent warranty - replacement were immediate on those few occassions when it was necessary.

I'm Pleased with this IM8 rod. Fuji seats cork handles, zircon guides.. At this price point the rod is a good value and attractively done. Chrome finish on the guide braces is just ok. The upper section on mine has a wayward bend to it that offsets the rod slightly. I don't think this is the norm for these and Okuma offered to warranty it. The warranty is upgraded to lifetime by the company by the way. They are responsive to inquiry. Outside of the small issue I think this rod will do well. Has enough power to get light baits out there as rated but wont throw much more without some effort. For a light stream trout rod in 7 ft I'm pretty happy with the action and feel overall. Its nicely finished and has a sweet action similar to some domestic rods I own.
