Meat stick

Used the heavy action for Blackfish and using 8 ounces of lead barely put a bend in it.
7'6 medium great performer heavy action will pull up the bottom
by seabass
i have an update on the medium action. the rod itself is very pretty to look at and is totally functional and light to use all day. i used this for the first time jigging striped bass this fall using large shads and diamond jigs up to 4 ounces. i had a quantum heavy duty high speed low profile reel with 16 pound test mono paired with it, after catching several bass with it, it was outstanding. the heavy action rod will put the screws to any tog, giant blue or cow bass. went bottom fishing with it and was using 8 ounces of lead and the rod hardly bent. the medium action is the way to go for inshore fish in the north east
Great rod for larger inshore species
by Kweeks10045
When Okuma put the “inshore” name on these, I believe it was for the tarpon, stripers, and other large inshore species. These are WAY too heavy for speckled and smaller species. But great rods
very stout rod

I have got 2 of these models, both 7'6 one heavy one medium. by looking at these rods, they seem to have copied off of the phenix black diamond inshore series in their grips using cork and foam which is very comfortable in your hands. okuma seemed to get it right by using all reinforced guide sets and high quality components. now for the actions, the heavy version on this 7'6 rod is very stiff, the 3 ounce rating is way under-rated, in my opinion, you can easily use 6 plus ounces with this rod with out effort that is a negative for me plus its fast action helps with the stiffness, on the medium action is more of a mh and can handle at least three ounces, so if you want more tip action and flex then get the mh. if you want a much stiffer rod than get the heavy action. hope I helped you guys out when ordering
