This is my 2nd celilo rod, my last one I have had for 3 years, great rod with good action. I use it for blue gills and trout, this is my favorite rods for panfish.

Review Update (This Rod Is Awesome)

by Poxy Boggards (FNN)

Just wanted to update my review. I started using this rod for trolling as well as plastics. I love the actio that the 7'0" rod delivers when trolling. I managed to land a 15# trout out of Corona Lake while trolling with this rod. I am amazed that a rod of this price range can give such great tip action while at the same time having enough back bone to land a 15# Rainbow Trout fighting for it's life. Don't hesitate, this is a great rod! Well worth the money and then some!

Great Rod At A Decent Price

by Snort

I own three of these rods, a light, medium light, and medium. I like the way they look and cast. They're light in my hands. I didn't like the long Type B handle though. As soon as I received the ML and M, I cut the cork handle back to 5". I use the 7'6" light for trout streams, the 9'6" medium light for small rivers/ponds, and the 8'6" medium for larger bodies. The two lighter rods handle trout and larger bass with no problems. I'm waiting to hook a decent sized northern pike on the medium to see how it handles that type of pull. I always keep my rods in cases when not actually in use and ANY rod tip will snap off if you're walking through the woods and jam it into a pine tree...These rods are perfect for someone who sees no sense in owning a $300 spinning rod...

Nice Rod

by MRJay -

got the 7' , Had it for a few weeks and it's already seen a few lakes and have helped me land quite a few trout and a nice 3 lb mackinaw. Used it for trolling and casting from the bank. Nice light rod.

Okuma Celilo Rod

by Dave C -

I purchased this rod from Fish USA and was very happy with the product. I received it quicker than I would which was a plus. The rod was alot more than I was expecting since it's built and handles better than my more expensive rods

Celilo = Crappie Slaying SOB. Period.

by Dustin t.

I first purchased the 8' version of this rod. At first I didn't like the rod at all but once I used the rod I fell in love. I would love to have 1$ for every crappie I have caught on it. This rod will cast a 1/32 ounce jig like a dream, super sensitive and durable. I have landed some very nice buffalo and carp that decided to nab my crappie jigs. I take this rod with me everywhere I go. in the future I am going to order a shorter one for tight spots and another 8 footer. If I broke this rod I would probably cry to be honest.

Fantastic for trout and creek fishing

by Jd

I have owned this rod for 4 years and have not been that careful with it. Its been dropped, stepped on a couple times and accidentally whacked against a couple trees, and it still has held up very well. Not that its meant to do any of that and you may have a different experience but I cannot speak highly enough of this and all my other Okuma gear.

Most Excellent Rods - Super Packaging - Shipping A+

by James Darrell Fultz

Excellent rods. Ordered 3 in the 6’6” and right out the box I am very impressed. FishUSA did a very most excellent job in packaging these rods and shipping was timely. I can tell that this company takes pride in their shipping department. A+ and I will be ordering more of these rods and other equipment. Thank you for providing these rods fir an affordable working man’s price. God bless.

I love this rods. I have 6'6" and 5'

by GregFisherman

Okay, I have tested 5' Celilo against 5' Spinmatic-d and 5' Cherrywood.
casting and sensitivity. Worst performance on everything. However I find myself packing this rod often when I go to fish. Sensitivity can be fixed by using braid. Slow near moderate action. If you ask what rod wins in that competition - Spinmatic-D, but still far behind Triumph 5'.
Why 5 stars ? I love this rod.
