This is in reference to the strength and stiffness of a rod blank and the weight range of the lures it can handle. Light jigs and spinners would be best cast with Ultra-Light or Light power rods, while heavy spoons and large crankbaits are best cast with Medium-Heavy or Heavy power rods.
