Stickbait

Definition of stickbait

Stickbaits are designed to imitate baitfish. They have longer, more slender profiles than most other lures. These can be cast, drifted or trolled. Stickbaits can be designed to sink, float or suspend at certain depths. Many will feature a lip or bill on the front which will cause the lure to move and/or dive to specific depths at specific speeds of retrieval or when trolling. Internal devices may be included to create a rattle or clack. This creates vibrations for triggering bites. Stickbaits can be one piece or jointed for added movement.
