The Garmin GPSMAP 8612xsv with Mapping and Sonar is for those who are serious about their sport fishing, cruising, sailing, or racing on the water. The chartplotter includes a 12-inch full HD In-plane Switching (IPS) bright touchscreen display preloaded with both BlueChart g3 U.S. coastal and LakeVü HD maps (with Navionics data and Auto Guidance technology); NMEA 2000 connectivity and the Garmin Marine Network; ANT technology and Wi-Fi networking; and a SmartMode station which controls access to the information you need quickly. The GPSMAP 8612xsv chartplotter/sonar combo is complete with built-in support for Garmin sonar, such as the dual-channel 1 kW traditional CHIRP, ClearVü and SideVü scanning sonars. There is also built-in support for Ultra High-Definition scanning sonar (no black box required). Anglers will also find that the chartplotter supports the entire Panoptix all-seeing sonar line (transducers sold separately).

The GPSMAP 861212xsv chartplotter enables fast map drawing, superior networking, video distribution, and more. With the built-in Wi-Fi technology, you can sync with the free ActiveCaptain app for access to OneChart, smart notifications, Garmin Quickdraw community data, and more. The unit can control video streaming from Garmin's GC 100 wireless camera and VIRB action cameras. Further connectivity is built-in to accommodate the ANT wireless system linking directly to Garmin watches, wireless transducers, marine instrumentation, and remote controls. The chartplotter comes preloaded with BlueChart g3 coastal charts and LakeVu g3 inland maps each with Navionics and data. Auto Guidance technology suggests destination routes based upon your boat’s specs, and contains expandable memory for accessory maps, too!

With all of the information the GPSMAP 8612xsv with Mapping and Sonar can provide, it's advantageous to see and interpret it all by adding a second or third multi-function display for wider viewing angles, clarity, and sunlight readability, even with polarized sunglasses. Mount each flush or edge-to-edge to your fishing machine. The chartplotter can control your marine electronics with the help of NMEA 2000 networking and the Garmin Marine Network — from radar and autopilots to cameras, instruments and forward-looking sonar — and shared across multiple screens. Further, Garmin's OneHelm system synchronizes with many third-party onboard marine technology like lighting, digital switching, stabilization, and others to bring their control through the GPSMAP 8612xsv display.

When you're building your marine electronics suite, investigate the networking abilities and expansion capabilities when your needs grow for cruising, sailing, racing, or sport fishing, you may find the Garmin GPSMAP 8612xsv with Mapping and Sonar is the system for you.
