G. Loomis NRX Trout Nymph Fly Rods are extremely fast, 10-foot, 4-piece rods with light, sensitive tips to help anglers make short, accurate casts for drifting nymphs. There are myriad nymphing techniques, but the main thing is line and fly control.

When Czech nymphing, anglers actually lob weighted nymphs upstream of the target area and then, using the extra rod length, and long, light leaders, guide the flies along the bottom, almost pulling the rig downstream. When "dead-drifting" nymphs the extra length and extrafast action helps improve casting accuracy and line mending while giving you quick hooksets and positive fish-fighting control. The Czech Nymph technique has quickly gained a following in the U.S. as anglers discover different ways to fool pressure-sensitive trout. No matter how you choose to fish a nymph, these rods will improve your results.

  • Translucent green blank color

Specific Rod Details

NRX 1203-4 Nymph G - A light, powerful, fast-action specialty rod designed for the many varieties of Nymphing techniques where long, light leaders are used to catch pressure-sensitive trout. It has a light, responsive tip while the lower 3/4ths of the rod is stiff to help you drift nymphs, weighted or unweighted, through likely feeding areas. This 3-weight version is for light leaders and smaller trout. NRX makes this rod extremely sensitive, a huge advantage for any nymphing technique.

NRX 1204-4 Nymph G - A light, powerful, fast-action specialty rod designed for myriad Nymphing techniques. It has a light, responsive tip, but the lower 3/4ths of the rod is extra stiff to help you "pull" weighted nymphs or free drift them through likely runs. This 4-weight version is for slightly heavier leaders and larger trout. NRX gives anglers a huge advantage with any nymphing technique because it's extremely sensitive.
