Superb piece of graphite

by -

Just bought one of these - the 10' model E6X 1205-2C STR. Very nice rod, its light weight and rigid sensitive graphite blank are outstanding for the price. Has a good balance and feel to it, paired with a Curado. My only quibble is about the cork grips - these come sanded down to a diameter of fifteen sixteenths of an inch (quite thin for my paws). I checked my other rods and the grip thicknesses are one and one sixteenth inches and one and one eighth inches, considerably thicker and easier to hold on to. I don't know if this thin grip style is some kind of new age trend or what, but it makes the rod not quite perfect in my opinion. As long as you are OK with a slender grip, this is a great steelhead rod at an excellent price.
