Great Shelter for 2
by Fishwhisperer -
After over 50 years of ice fishing the Quickfish 3 is the first shelter I've ever owned. I guess I've offically become a Grumpy Old Man. Setups up easily and worked fine. I like the fact that the storage bag is basically a back pack. First use was in 25+ mph winds with blowing snow. We were very comfortable inside and could detect the slightest bites with ease. I highly recommend you anchor at least a couple of corners before you pop it up. There were 2 of us using the shelter and I don't believe packing 3 people in there would work that well. I had read other reviews on this shelter and totally agree that Eskimo should provide 8 anchors rather than just the 6. I recommend you buy a couple more and string up all 4 sides as well as the 4 corners. Winds do shift during a day on the ice. It's a total mystery why 8 are not provided.
Bought QF-3 last year - first use this week - wonderful. A buddy from NW Ontario told me to order one for him!
Should have bought one years ago!
I like to research items before I buy them. I prefer to buy things of quality that last. The ESKIMO 3 was more than I expected. I looked at other shelters that were more expensive and chose this one. Great floor size 70" x 70" and over 6 1/2 ft of head room. I have plenty of room for all my equipment and another person. Folds down in even less time than it takes to set up. Excellent value for the money.

I love ice fishing but cannot stand the wind. With this product I was able to fish in the middle of the lake, 17 deg with a 3 below wind chill and 15-30mph winds barreling down on me and I was as snug as a bug in a rug. I caught trout and smallmouth all day as over a dozen people came and left because of the winds and cold. The shelter sets up in a minuet or less and breaks down just as easy and I fish alone. The screws are the best I have ever used. They screw into the ice by hand with minimal effort. The set comes with 6 but you really should have 8. The windows are very clear and allowed me to watch my tip-ups from my chair...prefect eye level. Another pro was if you can get the sun to beam on one or more then one windows, it heats up the structure in no time. Great product that is well constructed with quality parts. Days that were blown-out are no longer...
Received as gift and pleased
The side the wind is on pushes the wall in. I'd like to have something I can tighten/loosen in the wall that would fix that. I suppose the 5th and 6th anchors can hold the wind side with the included string. Set up is great. I'd like one or two sides with two windows for easier viewing of my tip ups.

Once set up with anchors not as easy to move as a Quickflip.

Purchased the Quickfish 3 shelter last year and used it several times. The material the shelter is made of is great. On the warm days it traps the natural heat from the sun and on the cold days it keeps the heat in from my buddy heater in. I found when using the Quickfish 3 it is better suited for two guys for two reasons. 1 - Pops and I like toys - flashers, his camera etc. 2 - we almost never drive on the ice with anything other than a Gator (for mobility) and most of what we take out comes in the shelter. I would like for the shelter to come with 8 ice screws not 6 as previously mentioned and I would like to see the bottom trim to have a wider width to make a better wind stop. No real issues though. I shopped around a lot looking at the others Clam, Frabil etc. Eskimo is the best choice – don't hesitate!
Would buy again

This is a good shelter. But in cold weather the plastic windows cracked. -20
good shelter, with 1 issue...
I have a Quickfish 3, only issue is that, the wall that takes blunt of the wind, collapses. Perhaps there is a way to tighten the hub system???

sets up quickly and easily. good in windy conditions.
Quckfish2 is a good small, light option.
Bought a Quickfish2 to have something lighter/easier to take out. We have a Fatfish 949i, so I knew what kind of quality to expect. Nice materials, pops up easily with one person, anchors are great. A little work to get back in the stuff sack but not too bad. We fit two people with flashers in it, cozy but not terrible. Only issue I saw was the door is pretty narrow compared to other houses, so you have to be a little careful stepping in. A great choice if you are looking for something smaller and lighter to pack in!
