Good Product.

by Jolodge -

This is a great rod for steelhead fishing, it has the tip feel and the backbone to stand up to landing steelhead. The price is great and well worth it. I will be using it for more trout fishing as well.

A good, very flexible rod for the handicapped angler.

by Rev -

For those of us whose age or physical condition make one-handed casting a, literal, pain, the two hand grip means that fishing is once again fun. The reel set is a wee tad too small for some of my reels and the rear guide is much too small for a so called spinnig rod. Indeed, the rod looks, feels and acts much more like a fly rod than one intended for spinning gear. It could also be an excellent, though short, center-pin or float rod. Such flexibility is rare and should be emulated. Overall, a very neat rod with a good action and a fair price.

Purchased 3 more

by MI Guide -

One of the best rods available for float fishing for the price. We guide over in Michigan, and put baitcasters on with floating mono, and send them out with this super forgiving rod. Enough backbone to get the job done on 20lb kings as well! Always great customer service from FishUSA

Too Slow

by Old Eagle -

This rod would probably make a good crappie bobber rod. It has a very slow action and very little rebound dampening. Casting is difficult because as the rod loads for the forward cast it will then equally unload do to excessive tip wiggle. Nice finish, first guide too small and further complicates casting. Will give mine to a friend who fishes from a pontoon boat and uses rod holders.

Eagle Claw Granger

by Domf -

Love this rod. I own 3. Would buy 100 of them if I could. I hope they never go out of production. I use them for everything from live bait fishing under floats for pier coho, to steelhead to bluegill and crappie. Lots of flex, lots of fun, protects light leaders well and still lands large fish.

good 9' ultralight spinning rod

by big O -

a lot of rod for the money, only improvement is make the 1st guide slightly larger, but still casts well as is. This rod is sensitive, balanced, and plays the fish well.

Amazing Rod for the Money

by Crackers -

I have two of these Granger rods for back up to some of my other much more expensive rods but enjoy using them and for the money they can't be beat. Perfect size (9') for the smaller streams that I fish, very light, balanced with an excellent Michigan style handle that I can use with a fly reel (strip & pitch) center pin, closed face spinning or spinning reel... After I purchased the first one I was so impressed with it I bought the second one.. Can't beat it and like them especially for winter fishing.. First guide (collector guide) is a tad small but no issue with a fly reel or center pin, only small for open face spinning.. Overall for under $30 bucks, this rod is a steal!.. I would highly recommend it for a new Steelheader or as a back up for a veteran...

Use it every day

by Hallmark -

Have never used this rod on steelhead. Have caught crappie, walleye, catfish, bass small and large mouth, carp, and most any other kind of fish you can drag out of fresh water in the midwest. Strength is no problem as long as you don't step on it, shut it in a door, or short bend it under a heavy load. Utlilize the full length of the rod and it will handle fish that will surprise you. I have 2 i Use and one as a spare. Didn't feel comfortable with that so i just ordered 2 more.

Same as a noodle rod

by dana -

I fish steelhead in a large creek setting. I use jigs, spinners, and spawn. Casts needed distances with ease. Also gives the much needed control for landing these tough fighting fish.

Just what I've been looking for

by Ed -

I wanted a long, light rod for bluegill to pick up slack when using a bobber and that will cast well. I really like the tip action. These (I bought 2) will fill the bill.

this rod has good back bone to it

by Carp King -

This rod has a good back bone to it. It is good rod because you control the fish not the fish control the rod.
