Sweet little ultralight reel. A friend, using my Eagle GT ultralight rod with this reel caught a 3+ pound rainbow and was surprised at being able to land it with that setup. Nice drag. Now filled with a second spool from Fish USA with 5# braid and a length of Seauguar 4# Fluorocarbon leader, and the thing casts a 1/8 oz. spoon as far as a 1/4 oz. spoon on mono. If they ever come back in stock may buy another.

          Not as advertised

Posted by Perry on March 28, 2022

Appears to be a nice reel but it is not as advertised as an in between size of 500 to 1000. It is no bigger than my 500 size Shimano.

I've had this reel out a few times on the Daiwa Spinmatic D 4 piece 6' travel rod with 1/16 oz Japanese spoons. Works great on trout in small streams. Just remember to feather the line to avoid tangles like all UL reels. Wish more Daiwa was in stock though.
