The one-piece Monocoque Zaion V-Body uses a carbon composite material made to be even lighter and tougher than carbon composite graphite materials. The Monocoque Body eliminates the need for screw space that, in turn, holds a large-diameter drive gear. That drive gear, Tough DigiGear, is made of zinc in the Ballistic LT MQ spinning reel family for stronger and silent precision winding rotation. A no-corrosion Zaion V Air Rotor and Air Bail make early and easier winding possible. Daiwa's MagSealed technology (use of magnetism and oil to wall off water from the guts of the reel) is carried through to the Ballistic LT MQ model.
