my favorite ice rod and reel

I do alot of jigging with my sonar through the ice i use only three rods when i go. a light action and an ultra light action and these two are spinning reels with a 5.2 retrieve ratio and my 3rd is this spooler combo that i love when i hook up to a fish because you feel every wiggle and run of the fish its slow retrieve ratio 2.3 i believe is a plus on certain jigs and spoons. I put 3lb test on it and love the super light action it is very sensitive to the lights of nibbles yet has the backbone to bring bigger fish to the hole. just this past weekend i iced my biggest landlocked salmon ever and at 18.75 inchs and 3lbs 4ozs i am very pleased at how this little 22inch spooler combo preformed the fish made 5 strong runs after getting him to the hole the drag is silky smooth plus you can palm the reel also to help the drag along. Also being a spooler reel i notice very little line twist as opposed to my 2 other spinning reels. it took me about 15 minutes to land that salmon but to me thats what it is all about . Awesome little ice combo if you are considering a spooler combo this one is it.
Super sensitive but yet strong.

I own 2 of these units now, and they are all I use anymore! Super sensitive but yet strong. I landed a 18" Largemouth bass last winter and never once was I worried about the out failing. Great outfit for the price!
