The most significant improvement is the unique T-locking system design for the rudder shafts – BerleyPro's arrangement ensures you get zero play from the shaft to the rudder. Plus, the design eliminates a reliance upon a single top screw to hold the rudder in place as four additional screws lock the steering disc to the rudder solidly.
You no longer need to drill into your yak's original steering plate to affix this upgrade. There is a separate tension plate on the top and an added hole for retractable pull cords.
