Crafted from St. Croix's exclusive high-modulus SCIII graphite, these are versatile, moderate-fast fly rods that load smoothly and progressively down the blank for a silky casting stroke and exceptional feel. For everything from hatch matching on a gin-clear spring creek to fighting strippers off the beach, there is an Avid rod for the occasion.
The St. Croix Avid Series fly rods are built with St. Croix's SCIII graphite. This is an advanced, high-modulus graphite that delivers maximum durability and sensitivity. Not as fast as the SCIV graphite used on the Legend Ultras, the SCIII graphite blank material creates a rod with a smooth, light feel in the hand and superb power.
Additional features of these quality rods include the following:
- Uplocking, anodized aluminum reel seats (comply with AFFTA fly reel foot standard) with light-weight woven graphite inserts
- Top-quality, hard-chrome single-foot guides with extra-stiff frames for superior casting performance and durability
- Aluminum-oxide stripper guides
- Select-grade cork handles
- Rugged Cordura-covered rod case with divided polypropylene liner
These rods are available in the traditional two piece models. All these rods are considered moderate-fast action rods.
